The sloop ship hull is the smallest ship in the game. All players begin the game with a sloop.

The sloop doesn't provide much room for cannons, crew or cargo. It is very inexpensive to repair however. Because of this, some players prefer a sloop - outfitted with as many add-ons as possible - to a higher level ship.

The biggest threat to a player in a sloop is being attacked by a navy vessel and being put out of the game. Because of this threat, many players do not attack merchant ships while in a sloop.
